About Me

My photo
Last year I turned the big 3.0 and got married - I thought that was my milestone year. As it turns out, 2009 quickly overshadowed 2008 when my husband and I found out we were pregnant. I'm going to be experiencing everything for the first time as a woman and an expectant mother which is why I'm calling this my year of firsts. I'm senior editor for Marie Claire South Africa.

My last appearance

I thought I could still do it but I can't anymore. Go out I mean. This weekend was the Cape Town Jazz Festival and the prospect of listening to endless live music performances by Incognito and Mos Def, nipping out for bites to eat around Cape Town, bumping into old familiar faces and catching up, filled me with overwhelming excitement. But by the time 12 midnight rolled around and we were still waiting around to see Mos Def come out, I wanted to dissolve into a heap and cry. My back was sore from all the standing around, my head was throbbing from the sensory overload and my feet and legs were threatening to go into a spasm. 'I wanna go home' was all I was shouting out aloud in my head. 'But your tummy isn't even that big!' my sister says who can't seem to understand my pain...
So that's all folks! My party days are over for now. Sad but true.
